Abstract of GB328497 328,497. Newman, A. M., and Suchomski, J. June 25, 1929. Gramophone pick-ups; microphones and variable-resistance transmitters; systems for transmitting music.-A gramophone pick-up comprises two microphone chambers 3, 4, Fig. 1, or groups of microphone chambers, arranged on opposite sides of the needle-holder lever 1, which chambers are enclosed within a common tubular housing 19. The movable electrodes 5 are con. nected to separate flexible diaphragms 10 connected to the lever 1 or to a single diaphragm 10a, Fig. 2, slotted at 22 to allow movement of the lever 1. The fixed electrodes 6 are connected to the terminals 17, the terminal 18 leading to the electrodes 5 through the casing 13. The two microphone chambers 3, 4, or groups of chambers, are differentially connected to a two-part primary winding 24, 25 of a transformer 26 having a high transformation ratio. The secondary windings 29, 30 are connected in series or in parallel to the loud-speaker 31.
